Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. She was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born on the 24th of July, 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won her the Academy Award for best support actress. When she answered an open call for auditions and was selected for the part, she was cast in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish piano player who moved from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. She was only nine and had no prior experience in acting. The actress moved into the United States as a teen. Paquin played the lead role in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part in the film as Jane Eyre as still a toddler. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and also played a part as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played in the role of character of the polexia Aphrodisa character in Almost Famous (2000).
